About the event

Rainbow Dads Victoria is excited to announce the launch of the Rainbow Dads Playgroup! This initiative provides a welcoming, colourful, and judgement-free space for GBTIQA+ dads, prospective dads, and their children to connect, play, and grow.

The official launch party will be held at Level 1, Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library, on Saturday 17th May 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Event Highlights:

  • Drag Story Time featuring the fabulous Frock Hudson

  • Face painting and balloon fun for the kids

  • Sensory play, craft activities, and rainbow-themed keepsakes

  • Light lunch and refreshments on the rooftop garden

  • Special appearances by community leaders and local champions

This playgroup is more than just a place for toys and morning tea; it's about representation, connection, and creating a supportive community for rainbow families.  It’s a space to build friendships, share experiences, and see diverse families reflected.  The initiative also aims to connect prospective dads, including those exploring surrogacy, adoption, and fostering.

Rainbow Dads Victoria is a group dedicated to supporting, empowering, and celebrating GBTIQA+ people who parent as dads and those on the journey to becoming one.  We believe all families deserve connection, visibility, and a space to thrive.

We are proud to be working in partnership with Switchboard Victoria to bring this initiative to life, and gratefully acknowledge the support of the Victorian Department of Health’s Dads’ Group Program, which has made this possible.
